West Berkshire Community Connect is a flexible bus service operating on an on-demand bookable basis.
Community Connect is available for anyone to use and is there to improve public transport links in West Berkshire. Its aim is to increase access to employment, education, shopping, leisure, and healthcare opportunities.
Community Connect operates in the following areas of West Berkshire:
In the Northwest Downlands area the service allows you to travel from any designated pick-up point to any designated drop off point within the zone and to/from Newbury Town Centre, Newbury Railway Station, West Berkshire Community Hospital and Tesco at Pinchington Lane Retail Park.
Thatcham Connect covers Aldermaston, Aldermaston Wharf, Ashmore Green, Beenham, Brimpton, Bradfield, Bradfield Southend, Bucklebury, Chapel Row, Cold Ash, Crookham, Douai Abbey, Englefield, Tadley (Franklin Avenue only), Padworth, Standford Dingley, Thornford Park and Upper Bucklebury, connecting with Thatcham Broadway and Thatcham Station.
The service in Northwest Downlands and Thatcham Connect are separate service areas and you cannot travel between them.
Journeys are matched with other passengers who are traveling in a similar direction and time. We provide modern accessible, air-conditioned vehicles and a zero emissions vehicle is part of the fleet. Services operate Monday to Friday but not on public holidays.
You can book a ride up to 7 days in advance and with as little as 30 minutes notice, subject to availability on the vehicle.
Booking a journey:
Choose the day and time you wish to travel.
Select your closest collection point and arrival point.
A booking option will appear, and this can be accepted or declined.
Booking confirmation window will appear.
Details of the vehicle and its arrival status will be on the booking page and within the notifications section.
Your journey can be tracked on the map within the app.
